Baldwin Pool Update

The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly created a challenging time for all.  The pool and surrounding park area were undergoing some major exterior renovations when the pandemic and subsequent State and Federal declarations resulting in the stay at home orders and shut down of businesses were issued.  This forced the Borough’s contractor to stop work for two months.  Although the contractor has started back working at the site, their work will not be completed until the end of June at the earliest.  Additionally, in preparation for the pool season, back in early March the Borough found some mechanical issues with the pool that need to be addressed as well.  The combination of these needed repairs and construction improvements, along with the pool management contractor getting employees safely certified, all led to the decision to not open the pool this summer season.   This was a tough decision to make but necessary with the uncertain situation and items noted above.  Baldwin is not alone in their decision, albeit for other reasons, as many neighboring communities have decided to make the same tough decision regarding their pools as well.  Hopefully, we will see everyone next year to showcase our new improved pool access drive, parking and surrounding area.

Have a safe and healthy summer!
