Welcome to Baldwin Borough’s Department of Building Inspection. We are here to provide as much guidance and information as possible for the health, safety, and welfare of Baldwin Borough citizens. This department addresses all business pertaining to:
If you are changing the built environment on your property, please see the Building Permit page for more information.
As a property owner, you are responsible for maintaining your property in compliance with Borough codes. Please see the Borough Code for more information.
Residential properties that are sold or have new tenants are required under Borough code to be inspected and issued an Occupancy Permit. See the Occupancy Inspection page for further details.
The department also deals with all zoning inquiries, ranging from shed placements to zoning district usage. The entire Baldwin Zoning Ordinance can be found online. More information can be found on the Zoning page.
As part of new flood hazard mitigation projects, the Borough requires an elevation certificate be filled out when building a new structure or substantially adding to an existing structure. More information can be found under the Flood resource Center on the Elevation Certificate Page.
